CLEANROOMS

Standard Slip-Torque® Conveyor is designed to be compatible with Federal Standard 209E Class 100 (ISO Class 5) clean rooms.

Slip-Trak® Conveyor is designed to be compatible with Federal Standard 209E Class 10 (ISO Class 4) and a modified version CleanGlide1™ is designed to be compatible with Federal Standard 209E Class 1 (ISO Class 3)

Clean Passage™ creates a clean, mini-environment to transport and isolate products from the industrial environment.

Low (Thin) Profile™ conveyor is designed with a clean belt drive and to minimize overall dimensions: stackable and allows conveyor to be suspended overhead.

Zone Control™ Conveyor (ZCC) is a non-contact transport system designed to meet Federal Standard 209E Class 1 (ISO Class 3) clean rooms. ZCC offers less vibration and more stability when driven from both sides, but is available with drive rollers on either one or both sides. Vertical conveyors and turntables are also available in this non-contact transport product line.

Vertical Conveyor is available to meet Federal Standard 209E Class 10 or better (ISO Class 4 or better) clean rooms. Vertical conveyors are designed as fully integrated, multiple position units and when used in combination with other conveyors can form a bridge.

ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CONTROL
Shuttleworth is uniquely prepared to design material handling systems that limit electrostatic fields while regulating the ESD decay rate. Shuttleworth addresses these challenges in a number of ways:

Shuttleworth uses conductive plastic, dissipated polymers and components to significantly reduce charge on the conveyor surface. Operators and products are protected from high voltage electrostatic discharges.

HIGH TEMPERATURES
Shuttleworth conveyors are installed in elevated temperature applications such as "hot" products coming out of ovens for curing or drying processes. Chain-driven Slip-Torque® conveyors are recommended for use above 43°C (110°F). Shuttleworth offers chain-driven conveyors for elevated temperature applications requiring up to 260°C (500°F). Design and fabrication considerations include pneumatics, bearings, lubricants, electrical components, plastics, conveyor surface rollers and thermal expansion.

LOW TEMPERATURES
Shuttleworth conveyors are installed in low temperature applications such as in ice cream and food processing factories. Belt-driven conveyors are recommended for use above 10°C (50°F). Chain-driven conveyors are recommended for temperatures below 10°C (50°F). Design and fabrication considerations include pneumatics, bearings, lubricants, electrical components, plastics, conveyor surface rollers and thermal expansion.

EXPLOSION PROOF
Shuttleworth has significant experience designing "explosion-proof" conveyors, which will operate in areas that are subject to accumulations of flammable gases and vapors, or combustible dusts or fibers. Hot surfaces and sparks given off by switches, motors or relays can ignite in these types of atmospheres. Shuttleworth engineers have a very rigorous, proven set of mechanical and electrical specifications they must adhere to when designing conveyors for use in these environments.
