Shuttleworth Set to Expand Current Manufacturing Facility

Aug 16, 2021

HUNTINGTON, Ind., August 16, 2021 – Shuttleworth has announced a significant expansion to their headquarters facility located at 10 Commercial Road in Huntington, Indiana.

Founded in Huntington in 1962, Shuttleworth is a global leader in the engineering and production of cutting-edge materials handling equipment for the automotive, electronics, paper conversion, pharmaceuticals, food and personal care items and other markets, featuring both materials handling and product packaging line equipment. The company was acquired by ProMach in 2011.

With the expansion slated for groundbreaking in the Fall of 2021 and a target completion in 2022, Shuttleworth currently occupies 3 facilities in Huntington to meet the manufacturing demands needed to provide automated conveyor solutions for customers across a range of industries including food, healthcare, eCommerce, automotive and more.

“We are expanding, thanks to the impressive efforts of every employee, both past and present, who have brought us to where we are today. Lots of sacrifice, hard work, travel, late nights, and weekends over the years have proven that we sincerely care for our many customers, continually striving to fulfill our mission to deliver robust integrated solutions and product handling technology to solve global automation needs,” said Ken Tinnell, Vice-President, General Manager of Shuttleworth. “The new expansion will allow us to efficiently accommodate larger automation systems we currently manufacture while providing opportunities for continued growth.”

The expansion will connect with the existing facility at 10 Commercial Road and provide an additional 50,000 square feet to the manufacturing area with supplementary loading docks and restrooms. The project involves an investment of private capital of $4,670,000.00 and a commitment to retain 85 existing jobs while adding 20 net new jobs by the end of 2024. Shuttleworth first moved operations to the 10 Commercial Road facility in 1969.

“The expansion was necessary because of years of sustained growth of our Slip-Torque conveyor systems, automated devices and aftermarket services,” states Matt Reich, Manufacturing Manager. “Operating under one roof will help facilitate process improvements to develop workflow and operational efficiencies while providing opportunities for improved safety measures.”

We are very proud of our team in Huntington,” said Bret Ranc, ProMach’s Chief Operating Officer. “The team at Shuttleworth continues to demonstrate their brilliance in serving the needs of our clients. We enjoy an excellent relationship with the Huntington Community and truly appreciate their support, he added.
